Hi everyone! Today, I wanted to talk a little bit about how I’m doing sketching and digitally painting using Procreate.
If you are new to my blog, I started this blog over ten years ago to promote my art. I ended up switching focus on sewing and photography because I could post it more often and it was more popular. For the past two years, I decided I want to focus on posting art… but I didn’t end up doing it.
I have many reasons for this, but the biggest and most important is that I haven’t felt inspired to sketch, draw, digitally paint, ect. A lot of things happened offline and I felt like I needed to take a break from art. Now, I am trying to return to it using Procreate.
I have used Procreate before on other people’s iPads and really like it a lot. It is different than the digital painting programs I had used in the past, but I still really enjoy using it. It is really easy to use and is one of (If not the) best digital art program I have ever used. It is beginner friendly, yet it will be perfect for more advanced artists as well.
Now that I have my own iPad and Procreate program, artistically, I’m feeling pretty lost. I don’t have a lot of inspiration. I don’t know why, but whenever I try to sketch my old favorite subjects, I feel annoyed and bored with them. I want to push myself as an artist, so drawing and painting the same thing over and over again is just tiring and old. I decided to sketch my old favorite subjects because I thought I needed to draw something I am familiar. That way I would get used to the new program. Instead of facing a learning curve, I realized how much I remember from the old days of using Procreate on my friend’s iPad.
So, now I have unfinished sketches saved in Procreate… and nothing to post. I’m still debating what to do. I was thinking of posting the sketches that I like online to show what I’ve been up to. If I decided to do this, I won’t be publishing anything until next month. That means any fans of my art will need to wait a while before art posts return to this blog.
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading!
